THE DEN

We are seeking to access an apartment block to create a small, intentional community that acts as a safe stepping stone for women who need to leave relationships or who are at risk of homelessness but are not yet eligible for traditional support services.

To radically shift the way society sees, supports, and values single mothers — replacing judgement with dignity, scarcity with stability, and isolation with deep, meaningful connection.

ABOUT THE LIONESS DEN

The Lioness Den was born from one woman’s lived experience. A story marked by single motherhood, hardship, resilience, and a determination to build something better for women walking the same path. Founder Jenna Wilson didn’t start with a business plan; she started with a powerful truth: single mothers deserve more than what the world currently offers them.

Her journey revealed the deep cracks in our societal systems, housing that’s out of reach, financial support that barely covers basics, social services stretched beyond capacity, and an emotional toll that goes unseen. She witnessed single mothers working multiple jobs, skipping meals to feed their kids, sleeping on couches, carrying shame that wasn’t theirs, and feeling like they had to choose between safety, stability, and self-worth.

The Lioness Den was created as a direct response to this reality, a space that honours single mothers not as a “vulnerable demographic,” but as powerful, capable, intelligent, resourceful women who deserve real opportunities, real support, and real community.
